Lainey is a dog who has sustained a midshaft fracture of the left radius and ulna in her front leg. Her injury will require specialized veterinary treatment, including surgical repair with bone plating, to stabilize the fracture and support proper healing. Without appropriate medical intervention, Lainey is at risk for ongoing pain, improper bone healing, reduced mobility, and additional complications. The specialized orthopedic surgery and extensive postoperative care she needs exceed what we can consistently provide in the shelter environment. Despite her injury, Lainey deserves the opportunity to receive the treatment and support she needs to recover. She needs a safe, compassionate placement where she can receive prompt veterinary evaluation, orthopedic surgery, and ongoing postoperative care, including activity restriction and follow-up monitoring, to promote proper healing, restore mobility, and maintain her quality of life. Lainey is at risk for euthanasia due to medical concerns beyond our scope of care. If you are interested in adopting, fostering, or rescuing Lainey ,please email dasadopt@dallas.gov.
